Questions Often Asked

Is Everyday Negotiator only for professionals in business or sales?

Not at all. While the principles apply to workplace negotiations, the book is written for everyday life. You’ll learn how to communicate clearly with coworkers, friends, family, and even yourself — anytime you need to protect your boundaries, express your needs, or create win-win solutions.

Many negotiation books focus on high-stakes deals or aggressive tactics. Everyday Negotiator is about confidence, empathy, and practical scripts you can use daily. It blends proven communication strategies with real-life examples so you feel prepared without being confrontational.

Absolutely. One of the core strengths of Everyday Negotiator is giving you respectful, guilt-free ways to set boundaries. You’ll find ready-to-use phrases, mindset shifts, and tools to help you protect your time and energy without damaging relationships.

No experience is needed. The book is written in a clear, approachable style with step-by-step guidance. Whether you’ve never thought of yourself as a negotiator or you’ve had some experience, you’ll find simple frameworks that work right away.

Many readers notice a difference after trying just one script or mindset shift. Because the tools are practical and easy to apply, you can start using them in your next conversation — and see immediate improvements in confidence and clarity.

The author encourages her readers to speak their truths with compassion. She even gives them actual sentences to say. Awesome!

Important Career and Life Lessons in this book!
This is an amazing book. The author does an excellent job explaining how taking care of oneself at work and home is an act of self care. I wish I had this book and advice when I started out in life and my career, but don’t worry about the past. This book will provide quick life lessons and allow you to live your best life, NOW! The author does an excellent job explaining how the word “no” is actually a love word and that sometimes walking away from situations or people can actually be an act of spiritual elegance. You can feel the power in this book. Disclaimer: I am a professional and educated male and found this book to be great. It can be used in any life situation. This book will be on my bookshelf and will be read more than just once !

A Woman’s Place
The woman that I was then was a shadow to everything that I really wanted to be. I kept the real me in a safe , detached place. I wanted to be liked, to be considered. So I went with the flow, like the typical “good woman” as described eloquently by the author D L Genaldo in this book “Everyday Negotiator”. Genaldo see’s through most of us , everyday women, everyday negotiators as honestly as anyone can get. Made me think this book was written with me in mind. Read this book and you will realize that you have that person in you that has yet to come out and enrich and reward yourself with a much happier version of you! That is if you haven’t yet found that person. Genaldo’s story serves as a strong evidence and a clear example of who we could be and still be taken seriously, as well as respected. This book is about you, me, us!
Jill B.A priceless gem of a book!
Keep this gem in your pocket! It is not often that the preface of a book is memorable, but the Preface in Everyday Negotiator hooked me. The Introduction brought tears of self-recognition. This book is for Everywoman who “learned to speak not for clarity, but for comfort.” Who needs to “stop shrinking in order to be liked.” Read it, do the journaling exercise, and take it into your heart. Use the wisdom contained within the pages of Everyday Negotiator to remember the woman you are.
