How’s this for learning about the gift of life? A group of scientists, having unlocked the secrets of cloning, decided it was time to hold a conference with God. Their message was clear: God, you’re no longer needed. Humanity, with all its advancements, could now create life from dust, just as God had done.
The scientists gathered, full of pride in their achievements, and boldly explained their breakthrough. But God, in His wisdom, simply responded, “Explain this to me.”
With confidence, the scientists reached down to grab some dirt to demonstrate their power. God paused and said, “Uh, uh, uh, get your own dirt!”
This story is a humorous and humbling reminder of the greatness and mystery of life. We often get caught up in our own sense of control and accomplishment, forgetting that even life itself is a precious gift. In all the things we claim as our own—our families, our friends, our successes—they are gifts on loan from the universe.
Everything we experience in this life is part of the abundance the universe has to offer. Our very breath, our ability to see, hear, and feel are gifts we often take for granted. But today, let’s walk in appreciation for the abundance we are blessed with—the beauty of life, the relationships we nurture, and the opportunities to create and grow.
As we embrace the gift of this day, let’s remember that we are stewards of this abundant life. Every moment is a chance to honor the preciousness of what has been given to us.
